Docklands has in just 8 short years become Melbourne’s best “must see” destination and in years to come will become, without doubt, the most sought after part of Melbourne’s skyline. The Docklands’ precinct, right next to the CBD, has been built on old wharf land around the same size as the Melbourne CBD and is continually evolving.
Today it includes -
- a magnificent 53,000 seat roof retractable stadium offering world-class sporting and entertainment events
- harbourside dining with award-winning restaurants, bars and cafes.
- spectacular urban art, dynamic public space and also
- Harbour Town which has 120 brand shopping retailers across two spacious levels.
Docklands is spread over 200 hectares of land and water and is being developed in stages with a vision to create sustainable, mixed use area of public waterfront space where people can live, work and visit.
Projects presently under construction at Waterfront City on the north bank of Docklands include “Ice skating Australia” providing 2 huge rinks, “Costco Wholesale” offering warehouse merchandise of a size never before seen in Australia and the rebuilt Southern Star Observation Wheel.
